Congratulations to the linguists who are contributing to the development of the language.


New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated all the linguists who wished for Hindi Day and were contributing to the development of this language.


In his congratulatory message, Shri Modi said, "Happy Hindi Day to all of you. My sincere congratulations to all linguists who have contributed to the development of Hindi on this occasion. "


On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly approved Hindi written in Devanagari script along with English as the official language of the country.


Subsequently, the government of the country's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, decided to celebrate September 14 every year as 'Hindi Day' keeping in mind the importance of this historic day. The first official Hindi Day was observed on 14 September 1953. (Agency)
