The Maharaja wanted to honor the Hindi novel Samrat Munshi Premchand in Alwar by giving him 300 rupees a month, kothi, car, for his literary achievements, but he turned down the offer. Renowned Hindi critic Ramcharan Shukla was the curator of the Alwar Museum for one and a half years.
