IPL 2020 schedule released, first match to be played between Mumbai and Chennai

The BCCI has announced the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The 13th season of the IPL will begin on September 19 at the Abu Dhabi Stadium. The first match of the season will be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, which was earlier expected.

After the first match on Saturday, the match will be played on Sunday between the Delhi Capital and Kings XI Punjab in Dubai and the third match of the tournament will be between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers on Monday.

This will be followed by a match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at Shahjahan on 22 September. There will be a total of 10 double-header matches throughout the tournament, and the playoff match will be announced later.

Some changes have been made in the IPL to be held in the UAE this year. IPL 2020 this time will start at 7:30 pm instead of 8 pm Indian time as compared to evening. This will be the first time in the history of IPL when the finals will not be played on the weekend (Saturday / Sunday). All matches will be played in three UAE cities Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai.

It is worth noting that all the matches of the 13th season of IPL will be played behind closed doors and during this time the spectators will not be allowed to go to the stadium. IPL 2020 was originally scheduled to begin on March 29, but the league was postponed indefinitely due to a lockdown caused by the Corona virus epidemic. The postponement of the T20 World Cup paves the way for the IPL to be held.
